Founding Partner

Javier Duany is a partner in the Intellectual Property and Competition Law practice area. He has more than 25 years of experience advising domestic and international companies on the management of trademark and patent portfolios, as well as on litigation related to intellectual property infringement, piracy, unfair competition, and free competition. His practice includes the protection and defense of trademarks, patents, and copyrights; unfair competition proceedings; consumer protection; and advice on personal data protection.

He has actively participated in intellectual property defense proceedings and in legal strategies for the protection of companies’ intangible assets across various sectors. He has also served as a speaker at various specialized forums on trademarks and the fight against piracy, contributing to the analysis and development of best practices in this field.

He participated in the Legislative Committee organized by INDECOPI to draft the legal framework for anti-piracy measures. He is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA), the Inter-American Intellectual Property Association (ASIPI), the Peruvian Intellectual Property Association (APPI), and the Intellectual Property Committee of the Peruvian-North American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM). He has been recognized as a leader in intellectual property law by international rankings such as Chambers & Partners, Leaders League, and Who’s Who Legal.
